Multi-percussionist and more
Lucy Landymore is an award winning multi-percussionist, drummer and composer. She is in high demand across the UK and Europe, performing alongside the likes of Pharrell Williams, Guthrie Govan, Johnny Marr, Clean Bandit, Myles Sanko and Stewart Copeland.
Lucy's musical knowledge spans many genres, ranging from Pop, Jazz and Classical through to Latin American music, as a result of being exposed to music from Mali, India, Brazil, Cuba and Senegal through music courses when she was younger. The experience has lead her to study further in Rio de Janeiro and Cuba.
She has toured arenas with renowned film composer Hans Zimmer. The live show can be seen on the DVD Hans Zimmer Live in Prague. She has also performed in arenas with the world famous Tenor Andrea Bocelli, and is often guest lead percussionist and drummer with Igudesman & Joo. She is currently involved in The World of Hans Zimmer Arena tour as one of the soloists, performing on drum kit. When in her home country, she can also be seen performing in the Royal Opera House in Covent Garden, London.
Lucy has played live performances with producer Mura Masa and NAO, as well as broadcasts for the BBC on TV and radio. Other TV appearances include Michael Parkinson's Masterclass on SkyTV and the BBC Young Musician of the Year 2010, where she won the percussion final.
Lucy is a passionate composer and performs her own original compositions in recitals and concerts across Europe. Last year, she collaborated with her brother, producer Ben Landymore, writing the film score for SHIELD, directed by the New York film maker Yijie Mei. On June 30th 2018, Lucy will be performing “Fussball im Konzert” in the Tonhalle Maag, Zurich; a concert of her own music, fusing together music and sport with the World Cup football match.
